An excavator damaged a Scotiabank and wrecked a neighbouring building in Scarborough connected Monday successful what constabulary accidental appears to beryllium an attempted interruption and enter.
The incidental happened overnight astatine a plaza adjacent Port Union Road and Fanfare Avenue. Officers responded to reports of dense machinery into a slope astir 2:50 a.m., Toronto constabulary spokesperson Laurie McCann said successful an email Monday.
When officers arrived, the machine was inactive determination but suspects had already taken off, she said.
The suspects did not summation introduction to the bank, McCann said. There were nary injuries.
