The Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice has revealed its top ten UK experiences

A list of the top ten best rated experiences in the UK has seen a Manchester attraction named in the top three - beating the likes of a Harry Potter locations tour and a day trip to Loch Ness in the process.

The official Manchester City Stadium tour came in at number three in two different top ten lists in the Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice "best of the best things to do" awards for 2025.

The awards highlight the highest rated attractions and experiences around the world based on Tripadvisor reviews.

They have rated attractions across a host of categories, including family friendly, cultural and historic and bucket list.

The City Stadium tour came in at number three in the top ten experiences in the UK - the only other football stadium tour to make the list was Chelsea FC which came in ninth place.

Man City also ranked at number three in the "cultural and historic experiences" category, ahead of the Harry Potter Locations Tour in Edinburgh, and Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath Day Trips from London.

It also appears in the Best 25 world experiences list - the only UK attraction to do so - just edging in at 24.

Billed as an "immersive behind-the-scenes tour of Etihad Stadium, home to Manchester City F.C.", visitors get to check out the dressing rooms, stroll through the tunnel onto the pitch, and pose for photographs and even interact with a "virtual" Pep Guardiola in the press room using the latest technology on the tours.

The tour has won a string of five out of five glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, with families loving the chance to get behind the scenes of the Premier League stadium at Eastlands.

Recent reviews included one man who said he and his wife even stopped off on their honeymoon just to experience the stadium.

Reviewer Andrew B, from Virginia in America, wrote this week: "My wife and I stopped by Manchester on our honeymoon almost specifically for this tour and it did not disappoint!"

Rose K titled her review an "amazing day brilliant for kids as well as the adults". She said: "Me and my sister took our 2 boys age 9 and 8 they both had an absolutely amazing day the tour guide Martin was absolutely amazing really interacted with the boys told them lots of information about the stadium and players he really did make there day so special."

Lucas H said it was "great for any football fan", writing: "I have 3 sons who love football - not Manchester City fans, but we were recommended from a friend for this stadium tour - and it did not disappoint."

Indeed many fans of rival teams were left impressed too in their reviews. Kevin L wrote: "We toured 2 other stadiums this week, and although I'm a Liverpool supporter, this was the best tour!"

Dani P added: "Took a youth soccer team from Massachusetts, US to tour the Man City stadium. Emma, Ian, and Sujeet did a fantastic job and everyone had a great time. The boys will remember this forever."

Tripadvisor say that its annual "Best of the Best Things to Do" list showcases the world's top-rated experiences.

President of Tripadvisor Kristen Dalton said: "With such a huge selection of travel activities and excursions available on the platform, Tripadvisor helps travelers find the experiences that turn a trip into a lifelong memory.

"Whether you crave adrenaline or prefer to take things slow, ‘The Best of the Best Things to Do’ showcases the World’s top-rated experiences."

To celebrate Tripadvisor's 25th anniversary, the website also honoured the top World attractions and experiences of the last 25 years based on all-time reviews.

Topping the list for experiences is Full-Day Ninh Binh Highlights Tour from Hanoi, Hanoi, Vietnam, regarded by reviewers as a “once in a lifetime experience.” while the No. 1 all-time attraction is Basílica de la Sagrada Familia, Barcelona, Spain, which has been referred to by reviewers as ‘simply breathtaking’.

The Manchester City Stadium Tour was named No. 24 on the World Experiences list. It costs from £26 for adults and from £18 for under-16s off peak.
