Liverpool returns to Premier League action on Sunday with Manchester City's visit to Merseyside.
The Reds are still awaiting confirmation of exactly which players will be available for the clash at Anfield against the team currently sitting second in the Premier League standings. The primary concern surrounds the fitness of Joe Gomez.
The defender has been absent for the previous two matches after sustaining a hip injury when inadvertently colliding with Reds keeper Alisson during the 3-2 reverse at Bournemouth, with Arne Slot remaining optimistic that Gomez might recover and offer cover at right-back. This is particularly crucial as both Jeremie Frimpong and Conor Bradley remain unavailable.

Alexander Isak continues his lengthy rehabilitation from surgery on an ankle injury that included a fractured fibula after being caught by Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven while netting Liverpool's opener in the 2-1 away triumph before Christmas.
Teenage center-half Giovanni Leoni is sidelined for the campaign following ACL surgery in September, while youngsters Jayden Danns, Stefan Bajectic and Wellity Lucky are all unavailable.

City, meanwhile, has considerable injury worries of its own.
Knocks to center-halves Josko Gvardiol (shin) and John Stones (thigh) sparked the recent transfer market move for Marc Guehi, though Ruben Dias returned to training this week.
Attackers Rayan Cherki and Jeremy Doku are uncertain, while Mateo Kovacic and Savio are anticipated to be unavailable.
"(He) has a knock and we will see today how he feels," said Guardiola on Tuesday when asked about Cherki's fitness.
"Ruben started training yesterday, and Jeremy, not yet."
City hosts Newcastle in the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg on Wednesday, meaning there could be more injury problems for Pep Guardiola to deal with before Sunday's game.
"It is hard to play finals," added Guardiola. "It is really good for most of them, and for the club, it is so important."
City won the first leg 2-0 at St. James' Park. Should Guardiola's players progress, they'll take on Arsenal in the final at Wembley.
