The 2026-27 Scottish Professional Football League season will start on the weekend of 1 and 2 August 2026, the organisation has announced.

All four divisions will start over the first weekend in August and, for the third season running, there will be no winter break for the top flight.

The Premiership's 38th and final round of games will be played over 15 and 16 May 2027, with play-offs completed by 23 May 2027.

The Championship's regular season will conclude on Friday, 30 April 2027, with Leagues 1 and 2 ending the following day.

The Premier Sports Cup first-round group stage will take place from 11-26 July 2026, with the final scheduled for 13 December 2026.

A spokesperson for the SPFL said: "The new Fifa calendar comes into effect next season and the amalgamation of the September/October international windows means there will be no William Hill Premiership matches scheduled for the weekends of 26/27 September and 3/4 October.

"The dates for the 2026/27 KDM Evolution Trophy will be confirmed in due course."

Dates for 2026-27 the Scottish Cup will be arranged by the Scottish FA.

The current SPFL season is scheduled to conclude with the Premiership play-off final second leg on 24 May 2026.
