The weekend saw another poor result for Arne Slot, as Liverpool was held to a draw at Anfield by relegation-threatened Burnley.

This means that the Reds have only managed one win in their last five matches, with that lone triumph coming against League One side Barnsley in the FA Cup. This has fuelled speculation about the Liverpool board considering an end to Slot's reign, especially given that Xabi Alonso has recently become available following his departure from Real Madrid.

If Liverpool decides to part ways with Slot and bring in Alonso, Liverpool.com has identified some potential signings that the former Reds midfielder might consider.

Rodrygo

One of the major talking points from Alonso's time at Madrid was his strained relationship with Vinicius Junior.

However, on the other wing, Alonso seemed to have a good rapport with Rodrygo.

The Brazilian star has been linked with a move away from Los Blancos, and Liverpool was among the clubs interested last summer.

Madrid would likely demand a substantial fee for any sale, but perhaps Liverpool might decide to splash out on a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Edmond Tapsoba

Few members of Alonso's formidable Bayer Leverkusen squad remain at the German club, but Tapsoba has yet to make his exit. A regular under Alonso at Leverkusen, Tapsoba could be a potential solution to Liverpool's recent central defence woes.

With just two years remaining on his contract come summer, Leverkusen might be compelled to sell the 26-year-old, presenting a possible bargain for the Reds.

Angelo Stiller

In terms of Bundesliga exports, few have garnered as much attention as Stiller recently. The midfielder has been earmarked for a move to one of Europe's top clubs for some time, with Madrid among the rumored interested parties.

Stuttgart will face a challenge retaining him beyond the summer, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Liverpool among those vying for Stiller's signature when he decides to move on.

Eduardo Camavinga

Lastly, another of Alonso's former players from his Madrid days. Camavinga may owe an extension of his Los Blancos career to Alonso, considering the French international was struggling for game time before his arrival.

The pair seemed to forge a strong bond in the Spanish capital - something that could work in Liverpool's favor if the Reds pursue signing him.

Frequently linked with a departure from Madrid, a move to reunite with Alonso at Liverpool could be a promising prospect for Camavinga.
