Tottenham could reignite their interest in Ivan Toney

Ivan Toney has been prolific in the Saudi Pro League since swapping Brentford for Al-Ahli in a £40m move back in 2024.

TEAMtalk have now confirmed that Spurs did consider a January move for the England international, who has scored 58 goals and 15 assists in 76 appearances since moving to the Middle East.

The outlet claims that the Lilywhites are expected to be in the market for a new number nine again ahead of the 2026-27 season. It is suggested that Toney’s name could be considered by the North Londoners again in the summer.

Toney makes an interesting statement about his future

Amidst this transfer update, the former Bees striker has made an interesting revelation when asked about a possible Premier League return.

Toney refused to rule out a return to England, but the centre-forward made it clear that he is very happy in Saudi Arabia.

When asked if we could see him back on these shores, the striker told Sky Sports News: “Never say never. I have goals I want to achieve here first, the club have signed me for a long period of time. I want to repay them and bring trophies. In football and life, you never know what’s around the corner. Who knows what the next step is?

“I’m comfortable here and like being here. I’m doing well, my numbers speak for themselves, and I’m settled. I’m enjoying my football and don’t see why I’d leave to go back to where I was.”
