Italian club AC Milan have signed West Ham forward Niclas Fullkrug on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent.
The 32-year-old joined the Hammers in a £27m deal from Dortmund in 2024.
But the Germany striker struggled for form and fitness in east London, scoring just three goals in 29 appearances for the club.
"The past one and a half years didn't go as I - and surely you all - had imagined," Fullkrug wrote on Instagram.
"I want to thank you for your support, even when things weren't always easy. There are truly special people at WHU, and I am very grateful for everyone I met and the relationships I was able to build.
"Wishing you all the best for the rest of the season."
Fullkrug arrived in northern Italy last week and has already trained with his new team-mates.
Milan are second in Serie A, one point behind rivals Inter.
West Ham are 18th in the Premier League, four points from safety.
