Enzo Maresca is expected to once again make wholesale changes to his Chelsea side as they take on Brighton this afternoon.
The Blues head coach made eight alterations, in terms of personnel, in midweek as his side came from behind to beat League One opposition in Lincoln City in the third round of the Carabao Cup. While it was key for a lot of those players to get some much-needed minutes on Tuesday night, Maresca is set to choose something closer to his full-strength XI for the Brighton match.
Facundo Buonanotte, who scored his first goal for the club in Lincoln, is not available for this afternoon’s match due to the terms of his loan contract from the Seagulls. Meanwhile, Robert Sanchez is in contention to take back his place in goal after the Spaniard served his one-match suspension in the cup in midweek.
With all this being said, Maresca faces some tough decisions regarding the line-up he will field at the Bridge today. Bobby Vincent has done his best at reading the Chelsea head coach’s mind and has predicted the XI we may well see.
