AD FEATURE: Arsenal 2025/26 season preview: odds, prediction and transfers so far

23 hours ago 33

With the new Premier League season just around the corner, Arsenal will be aiming to finish above rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

After falling short in their attempt to end a 22-year title drought last season, Arsenal have approached the summer transfer window wisely, boosting Mikel Arteta’s options. Liverpool and Manchester City are likely to remain Arsenal's main challengers.

It promises to be an exciting season for the Gunners, who now have a proven goalscorer leading the line. Viktor Gyokeres adds a new dimension to the team.

Their campaign will begin away at Old Trafford, facing Manchester United on Sunday, August 17 (4.30pm). Bookmakers bet365 have backed the Gunners to have a successful campaign, but will they finally be able to overtake their main title rivals? Odds of 2/11 to finish in the top four suggest they will at least be in the race once again, as Arteta looks for his side to take their next leap forwards this season.

The view from our Arsenal reporter, Tom Canton

This is a season of expectation and pressure for Arsenal. The mission is to deliver silverware, and while it would be nice to lift a domestic cup and end this ever-growing trophy drought, eyes are on both the Premier League title and Champions League.

After spending big in the window, the Gunners are in a much stronger place to start the season than they were this time last year. Six signings are through the door and there remains potential for a seventh to be added too dependent on outgoings.

The difference-maker for Arsenal however has to be the arrival of Viktor Gyokeres. At 9/4, odds on the Gunners winning the league are almost certainly helped by the Swede’s arrival among their other additions.

However, their depth across the team is also key here, and they now have at least two competitive options for each of the eleven positions. It is this depth that makes the chances of winning a major trophy, priced at 1/1, so much more likely.

After three consecutive second-place finishes in a row, being beaten to their ultimate goal by sides outside of the capital, it is perhaps no surprise that the odds of being the highest-placed London side sit at 2/5, while finishing inside the top two for a fourth time in four years is priced at 10/11. Arteta needs to shake the tag of pretenders and take Arsenal into the sphere of champions, otherwise risk yet more scrutiny from a hungry fan base.
