Ademola Lookman makes transfer decision as Arsenal look for final signing

3 days ago 18

Arsenal have been handed a potential blow in their hopes of signing Atalanta star Ademola Lookman.

The Gunners have been credited with an interest in signing Lookman this summer, who looks increasingly likely to leave the Serie A outfit before the transfer window closes.

Mikel Arteta has already added six new signings to the Arsenal squad this summer and there is the potential for more to come before the September 1 deadline, with Lookman frequently mentioned as a potential target.

However, reports from Italy have suggested that Lookman may not want to move to North London or the Premier League this summer.

It has been reported by Corriere di Bergamo that Arsenal could make a €51million (£44million) offer to try and sign Lookman this summer. However, it has been suggested that the former Everton forward would likely reject the offer as he waits for Inter Milan to make their move.

Inter have also been heavily linked with signing Lookman and seem to be the favourites to secure the 27-year-old's signature before the transfer window closes.

Arsenal have already brought Noni Madueke, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres and Kepa Arrizabalaga to the club this summer in the transfer market.

The Gunners have been tipped to sign a new wide forward before the transfer window closes, with Real Madrid star Rodrygo and Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze being heavily linked with moves to the Emirates Stadium.

It remains to be seen what plans Arsenal will have to strengthen the wide forward department before the transfer window closes, with Lookman likely to continue to be linked until a decision has been confirmed regarding his future in Begamo.
