John Heitinga’s agent has been speaking to the Dutch media about what could happen to his client in case Thomas Frank is sacked by Tottenham.
Heitinga joined Spurs as their first-team assistant coach last week, replacing Matt Wells, who left last month to take over as the head coach of the Colorado Rapids.
According to reports, Thomas Frank played a key role in hiring Heitinga, but the Dane’s future at N17 is far from secure.
Ahead of the game against Borussia Dortmund, reports suggested that Frank may be on borrowed time at Spurs, which raised question marks over the future of Heitinga as well as the rest of the Dane’s coaching staff.
However, the Champions League win has at least alleviated some of the immediate pressure on Frank, with Burnley away to come this weekend.

John Heitinga’s agent makes an admission about Tottenham contract
Heitinga’s agent, Rob Jansen, was a guest on a Dutch football show called KieftJansenEgmondGijp, where he had a humorous conversation with the show’s two other hosts.
The hosts were ribbing the agent on Heitinga’s Spurs future, and Jansen revealed that there is no clause in the 42-year-old’s contract regarding the Dane’s departure.
Here is the conversation the trio had on the program, as relayed by Voetbal Zone and translated by Sport Witness:
When asked what happens if Frank is sacked, Jansen said: “Then clause 12.2 comes into effect (a joke). But it doesn’t exist. I don’t expect the manager to be fired.”
Michel van Egmond: “Why not? They’re all singing ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’. There’s a pretty good chance he’ll be fired if he loses again.”
Wim Kieft: “But there’s no clause?”
Rob Jansen: “No.”
Wim Keift: “Oh, of course there is. Come on, man. You’re not some market trader, are you?”
Rob Jansen: “There’s no clause in it. It has nothing to do with each other.”
Van Egmond then said Heitinga could be kicked out if Tottenham sack Frank, to which Jansen responded: “That’s not inconceivable.”
Van Egmond: “What a terrible agent Heitinga has.”
Wim Kieft: “I’m a bit speechless.”
Why Frank being sacked may not be bad news for Heitinga
It has been widely reported that Tottenham may appoint an interim head coach if they decide to sack Frank and put off a permanent appointment until next summer.
Some sources have suggested that Heitinga may be the favourite to replace Frank as the temporary option if the Lilywhites do decide to part ways with the Dane.
Either way, the former Ajax head coach is certainly facing a lot more drama than he may have anticipated in his first week in North London.
