Alan Shearer expects Tottenham change after Liverpool with managers 'sounded out already'

Tottenham have been sent a fresh verdict on their ongoing struggles by Alan Shearer, with it suggested another change is imminent

Alan Shearer has shared his thoughts on the future of Igor Tudor if Tottenham lose to Liverpool. Spurs currently find themselves one point above the bottom three and thus firmly in a relegation battle alongside West Ham and Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham play the latter at the end of the month, but up first is a trip to Anfield and a Champions League last-16 second leg against Atletico Madrid. That arrives next Wednesday with Spurs 5-2 down after an embarrassing defeat in Madrid.

That was Tudor's fourth consecutive loss, with Shearer expecting a fifth to arrive this weekend and thus yet another change in the dugout.

Speaking to Betfair, he said: "Well, it could be two of the biggest months in the Spurs’ history. My guess is if they get beaten at Anfield at the weekend, that might be an excuse for them to get rid of him. I don't know, I'm guessing.

"But looking at Spurs and looking at what's going on, you can't realistically see them going to Anfield and getting anything. Then they've got Forest, and then there's an international break.

"I know they've got Atletico Madrid in between that, but my guess is that that tie is done, and they might even have to accept they're out before that game and look forward to Forest rather than try and claw back that result.

"So yeah, if they get beaten this weekend, my guess is they might be looking for a new manager. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they're already speaking to one."

There have been some interesting names linked to the temporary vacancy, if it becomes free, including Sean Dyche and former boss Harry Redknapp.

Shearer specifically named the latter in his verdict while also stating what will cause the Spurs hierarchy to be hammered.

He said: "It could be an interesting week for Harry Redknapp with his horse running in the Gold Cup as well!

"My guess is that they already may have sounded one or two out. If they haven't, then they should have, because if what we expect happens at the weekend, I would expect a change.

"The hierarchy at Spurs will be hammered if they make another change. Because of how fractured and messy it is, I think what they would do is go for someone who knows the club, whether that's an ex-player or an ex-manager. They would go down that line to try and get some harmony."
