Alejandro Garnacho has been in England since 2021 but the Chelsea winger's behaviour has seen him miss out on the Argentina squad for seven consecutive call-ups
Alejandro Garnacho has been warned to get his head out of the clouds if he wants a shot at the World Cup next summer.
The Argentine winger, who secured a £40 million move to Stamford Bridge last summer, has battled to dispel doubts surrounding his mentality. His departure from Old Trafford was far from amicable, with Garnacho publicly hitting out after Ruben Amorim dropped him for the Europa League final, essentially burning bridges with the club.
Tensions had been escalating for months. During United's 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in December, Garnacho seemed to ignore his manager's directions, looking away before entering the field.

Sky will show at least 215 live Premier League games this season, an increase of up to 100 more.
Whilst subsequently explained away as a miscommunication, the episode occurred mere days before his shock exclusion from the Manchester derby lineup.
Before his switch to west London, Garnacho found himself amongst the 'bomb squad' at Old Trafford and was dropped from Amorim's pre-season arrangements.
Discussing the 21-year-old's temperament, which has seen him frozen out of Argentina's squad since last November, former international Oscar Ruggeri told ESPN: "He's no better than anyone else, you're a football player, enjoy it, but you shouldn't be so full of yourself.
"It's pointless because you miss out on so much. Someone has to bring him down to earth. They're not calling him up to the national team.
"If he comes back down to earth like he was, they'll call him up again because he's phenomenal on the pitch."
Ruggeri recognises the potential in the Chelsea winger but insists he needs to work on his attitude. Whether Garnacho will make a return to the Argentina squad ahead of the major tournament is yet to be determined.
Speaking about his adaptation, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: "Garna is doing well. Garna is another player who we are trying to manage him a little bit physically, because he arrived here from United not 100 per cent in his physical condition.
"He is working hard every day, he is getting better and better, and in this moment we are happy with the way he is playing."
