Liverpool have been left anxiously awaiting updates after Alexander Isak was forced off with a knee injury against Tottenham.
The Swedish striker who played just 12 minutes before being replaced by Jeremie Frimpong, put the Reds into the lead. Spurs gifted possession following a bizarre pass from Cristian Romero, allowing Liverpool to work the ball quickly to Florian Wirtz on the edge of the box.
He threaded a perfectly weighted pass through to Isak, who calmly finished past Vicario with his left foot. However, the striker remained on the ground after scoring and limped off the pitch.
Sky Sports' Peter Smith at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium said:"Liverpool's big-money summer signings finally combine! Wirtz had just squandered a promising position in the box but played Isak in nicely here and it is a super finish from the striker. Worryingly, he seems to have injured himself in the process..."
