Alisson Becker insists Liverpool's squad remains unfazed by the Mohamed Salah controversy as he voiced his support for embattled manager Arne Slot.
Salah caused a stir with his remarks after being benched during the 3-3 stalemate against Leeds United on Saturday, claiming the club had thrown him "under the bus" and suggesting a potential departure.
The Egyptian was subsequently omitted from the Reds' Champions League squad for Tuesday's clash with Inter following the club's response to his public comments. Despite this, Salah participated in Monday's training session and joined the warmdown at the AXA Training Centre on Sunday following the Leeds encounter.
Alisson commented: "After the interview I thought it would be really weird but it wasn't," reports the Liverpool Echo.
"We know it's a personal situation and we respect that. We played our last game on Saturday night and there's not been too much time. Time together at training was to rest and recover and focus on a huge team.
"This isn't a situation that makes us happy. On a personal level we all love Mo and he's a hugely important player for the team. He is a wonderful human being and a spectacular footballer.
"The situation isn't nice. We were a little bit caught by surprise but we know it's a personal situation so we are leaving it to him and the club.
"It doesn't matter what we think. What we want is for him and the club to reach an agreement which is in the best interests of him, the club and all of the playing staff."
The Salah situation has piled additional pressure on Liverpool following a disappointing run of just four victories in 15 games across all competitions.
However, Alisson was emphatic when asked whether he remains fully supportive of the head coach.
"Of course, yes," declared the goalkeeper as he was asked directly whether he was still backing Slot.
"Why? The Premier League last season. Before Arne came in everyone was talking about the huge challenge of substituting Jurgen Klopp.
"It looks like everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season. That should be enough but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing that he is capable of helping us to turn around this situation.
"My relationship with the manager is fine."
Alisson continued: "It's not only about ourselves but that's the situation with the club as well, they trust him.
"It's not only his responsibility, as a player I share it with him. Of course he's the man responsible for how the team plays, but we are taking the responsibility and the ones that take action and can change everything.
"It doesn't make the situation any easier, but we are trying to do that. We have the desire to change the situation and the manager does as well. To get us back on track for the football we were playing last season."
Alisson reckons Salah would have anticipated the consequences of his remarks but hopes to see the player return to action for Liverpool.

"I hope he plays again for the club but that's a personal situation between Mo and the club," he said. "We as his team-mates and his friends we hope the best thing happens for him, but as Liverpool FC players we want the best for the club. We want a win-win for him and the club.
"Him not being available is a consequence of what he did. He's smart enough to know that.
"I haven't spoken to Mo about it how I want to talk. We have a good relationship, it's not just a team-mate, we spend so much time together. We are good friends.
"You share so many moments together, happy moments, sad moments, that creates a bond between people.
"I will have a conversation but it's going to be private because it's personal."
