Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has suggested he is nearing a return from injury.
The Brazilian has been absent from the Reds' last four fixtures after sustaining a hamstring injury in the match against Galatasaray last month. In the absence of the first-choice goalkeeper, Giorgi Mamardashvili has stepped up to the plate, but Liverpool's recent form has faltered under Arne Slot, with the team tasting defeat in five of its last six outings during a nightmare run.
Slot is anticipated to switch things up in goal for Liverpool's League Cup face-off with Crystal Palace on Wednesday, with third-string Freddie Woodman poised to make his debut for the club.
Last season, Slot made a similar move in the League Cup fourth round when Alisson was injured, giving Vitezslav Jaros his full debut away at Brighton while Caoimhin Kelleher filled in as the primary choice.
Alisson will still be missing from the squad for the League Cup match against Palace, with Slot confirming prior to the weekend loss to Brentford that the goalkeeper's recovery was "going to take a little bit longer."
As such, with no pre-match press conference scheduled by the Reds' head coach before the clash with the Eagles, it remains uncertain whether the Brazilian will be fit enough to return for the matches against either Real Madrid or Manchester City, or if Liverpool will have to manage without him until after the November international break.

However, Alisson has given a hint that he might be nearing his comeback after sharing an update on social media.
The 33-year-old posted a photo of himself in the gym on his Instagram story on Tuesday, accompanied by an hourglass and flexed biceps emojis.
In the meantime, Woodman has expressed his anticipation at possibly making his Liverpool debut on Wednesday.
"I'm really excited by the opportunity that could come," he told LFC TV. "I've been preparing and I've been ready for every game this season I've been involved in, and Wednesday night will be no different for me.
"When I signed for this club, [I thought] if I could have just got one game; that was the dream, that was the ambition.
"So, hopefully, Wednesday night, I can make that happen.
"I'm absolutely loving coming into work every day. I get to work with the best players, the best staff, in the best environment. Why wouldn't you come into this place and enjoy it?
"It's been an interesting couple of months for me. I'm really taking on board everything I can, just trying to learn and just trying to get little bits of information from all departments at the club. It's been amazing."
