Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson applauds Freddie Woodman
Liverpool fans loved seeing Alisson show his support for Freddie Woodman after the stand-in stopper made a save during the first half of the Reds' win over Crystal Palace.
Woodman lined up at Anfield in the absence of the injured Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili, and acquitted himself well on his first Premier League start since 2021.
The 29-year-old played a key role in Liverpool's second goal, as he parried a header from Jean Philippe Mateta, allowing Ibrahima Konate to clear the ball and spark the attack from which Andy Robertson scored to make it 2-0.
Konate and captain Virgil van Dijk both embraced Woodman after the goal, while Alisson was also spotted clapping and pumping his fist in the stands.

No way he’s off in the summer with that type of love being shown."
Meanwhile, Woodman spoke after the game about how memorable it was to walk out for a top-flight game at Anfield.
"It was an unbelievable moment for me," Woodman, who is a boyhood Palace fan, said. "I didn't think I would play at Anfield in a Premier League game when I joined this club.
"I'm a massive [Crystal Palace] fan now, still, but I wanted to try and help the team as much as I can. I've trained for this. When you're playing behind of top players, it makes my job so much easier."

Arne Slot said that Woodman's save from Mateta was the standout moment of the game.
“[Being delighted about Woodman’s performance is] an understatement," Slot said. "I think I’ve sat here many times telling you guys that we’ve created a lot of good chances and then the first one of the other team went in.
"Now, I cannot say that today, because they’ve had enough good chances and enough moments that they were really close.
"But I think the moment of the game was, of course, the lead-up to our 2-0 where Freddie made a big save.
"Otherwise it would have been 1-1. And 10 seconds later it’s 2-0. These are the current margins in the Premier League and today they were on our side and so many times they have been not on our side.”
