Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson has confirmed he hopes to play again this month and revealed via a social media post that he has not suffered a new injury.

The Brazilian missed the Reds final match before the international break - at Brighton - due to a knock and he was also forced to sit out his country's games over the March international break.

There had been an expectation that Alisson would be back for this weekend's match against Manchester City in the FA Cup, but Arne Slot confirmed in Friday's press conference that he will miss the quarter-final, and the double header against Paris Sain-Germain in the Champions League over the next weeks.

Slot did not provide clarity on the injury, but Alisson has clarified the situation on social media, and explained he has not suffered a new injury.

: "I didn't suffer a new injury. I'm in the treatment phase, and the plan is to be in full playing condition by the end of April," he wrote on X.

Alisson missed the Champions League trip to Galatasaray on March 10 due to a hamstring injury, but returned to play in the draw with Tottenham five days later and the second leg of the Galatasaray encounter.

He then missed the Brighton match, with Georgi Mamardashvili replacing the experienced stopper.

The Georgian is likely to start between the sticks this weekend and in the upcoming PSG double header later this month. Alisson also looks set to miss Premier League matches against Fulham, Everton and perhaps Crystal Palace at the end of April.
