Arsenal's summer signing Cristhian Mosquera has seen his projected transfer value improve even further after bargain move secured by Andrea Berta

Andrea Berta has won the hearts of Arsenal supporters for his work in the summer transfer window where he helped the club break it's record for expenditure in a single market. He was critical in the Gunners’ spending on eight players, which sees the squad as one of the best in the division.

Arsenal are four points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table, having already played their two main title rivals and visited some of the top-flight’s toughest grounds. The strengthened squad has been a key to stemming the injury crisis experienced in these opening months of the campaign.

Several shrewd pieces of business for players at lower fees have proved to be very helpful. None more so than Cristhian Mosquera, who has gained plenty of plaudits for his performances this season.

Signed for around £15million in the summer transfer window, he was also one of the cheapest additions made by one of the title challenges. While both Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard cost less, the Spaniard is just 21 years of age, and around ten years junior to the aforementioned pair.

He came in for William Saliba at Anfield and did not look out of place, nor did the Gunners appear any less resilient at the back, which is high praise indeed. As a result, it has been announced on the football site Transfermarkt that their valuation of the player has gone up yet again.

At present, the site values Mosquera at around £30.1million, up from £26.4million in the summer. The player was only keen on a move to North London and with little time remaining on his contract at Valencia, the Gunners moved to secure an extremely good deal for the player who could be worth comfortably double what they paid by the end of the season.

With the festive period fast approaching and plenty of fixtures on the way, Arteta is sure to give Mosquera more game time. A quarter-final League Cup match with Crystal Palace comes just three days after the Gunners travel to Everton in the Premier League.

While, Arsenal also have a Champions League tie with Bayern Munich sandwiched between domestic clashes with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. These weeks could be where Mosquera is used to help maximise the returns for the team and keep players’ fitness at their best.
