Former Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has wasted little time in finding his way back into Premier League management, with reports confirming a surprise return just months after leaving north London.
Tottenham Hotspur have seen a revolving door of managers in the last two decades, with more than a handful sent packing under the leadership of Daniel Levy.
The most recent name on that long list was Ange Postecoglou, who, despite guiding the club to its first trophy in 17 years, was still relieved of his duties.
His Europa League triumph could not overshadow a disastrous Premier League campaign in his second season, as Spurs slumped to 17th place, leaving the club’s hierarchy convinced a new direction was necessary.
Ange Postecoglou lands Nottingham Forest job after Tottenham exit
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, the former Tottenham manager is set for a swift return to the Premier League, barely three months after leaving Spurs.
Ange Postecoglou had been linked with a move abroad, with Turkish side Fenerbahce reportedly interested in appointing him following the dismissal of Jose Mourinho.
However, it is Nottingham Forest who have acted quickly, with the Australian replacing ex-Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo, and he is expected to take charge for their weekend clash against Arsenal, alongside some of his former Spurs staff.
Postecoglou could make himself even more popular among the Tottenham fanbase by securing an immediate win over their bitter North London rivals.

Spurs’ sour relationship with Nottingham Forest
Tottenham’s relationship with Nottingham Forest has soured recently, most notably during the failed transfer of Morgan Gibbs-White.
Spurs were understood to have triggered Gibbs-White’s release clause, but Forest chairman Evangelos Marinakis blocked the move and ensured the midfielder signed an extension at the City Ground.
While many Tottenham supporters still regard Postecoglou fondly for delivering silverware, their frustration with Forest remains, and it will be intriguing to see whether the Australian can bring stability and success to his new side, in what feels like the start of a new chapter for the 60-year-old.
