Tottenham fans will see several familiar faces in the Nottingham Forest dugout as Ange Postecoglou is set to take two of his former Spurs staff to the City Ground.
Just months after being sacked by Tottenham despite delivering the club’s first trophy in 17 years, the Australian coach is back in the Premier League.
Ange Postecoglou has been confirmed as Nottingham Forest’s head coach after the Midlands club controversially sacked another former Spurs boss, Nuno Espirito Santo.
There has been a mixed reaction from Tottenham fans to the news, and it turns out that Postecoglou will not be the only former Spurs employee joining the Midlands club.
Two former Tottenham coaches will reunite with Ange Postecoglou
According to a report in The Telegraph, Postecoglou’s former Spurs assistants, Mile Jedinak and Nick Montgomery, will follow him to Nottingham.
It was the Australian who bought Jedinak and Montgomery to the North London club when he arrived in 2023, and the pair left along with him earlier this summer.
The duo have been out of work at the start of the season, but they will now reunite with Postecoglou at Forest, whose bench will now have some very familiar faces for Tottenham fans.
Postecoglou could do Tottenham a favour this weekend
As fate would have it, Postecoglou faces Tottenham’s old enemy Arsenal in his first game as Forest boss, and he could thus put a smile on the faces of Spurs fans by getting a result at the Emirates.
Tottenham competed at the Emirates in both of their games at the stadium under Postecoglou, emerging with a deserved 2-2 draw in the 2023-24 season.
Postecoglou’s first reunion with Spurs will be on 13 December as the Lilywhites travel to the City Ground, and one would expect the travelling fans to give a good reception for the 60-year-old.
