Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon is expected to miss out once again this weekend as the Magpies take on Arsenal in the Premier League.
Gordon missed Newcastle's defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday with an injury, with Bayern Munich being heavily linked with a transfer move for the England ace when the summer arrives. Liverpool and Arsenal have also been put forward as potential destinations in some quarters.
While Gordon is expected to play again before the season ends, he is struggling with a minor issue at the moment. Newcastle is languishing in 14th place in the standings after a difficult campaign.

It adds that the 25-year-old "looks set" to move on this summer.
On Friday, Eddie Howe said that he would only field players who are fully committed to the cause, while also suggesting that he wants to continue at St James' Park next season amid speculation regarding his future.
"I discuss things with players all the time," the Newcastle boss insisted. "I don’t necessarily address transfer speculation unless it gets to the point that I feel I have to.
"After I had the chat with Sandro [Tonali], the biggest thing I look for is the commitment to training. That will be the same with Anthony and every player.

"I won’t play a player if I don’t think they are 100 per cent committed to the club and its future. I have to do what I think is right for the team. Players who are high-profile like they are here, they’re in the news all the time for loads of different reasons.
"You have to adapt to it and try to play to your best level with the noise around you. I don’t think any player can use that as an excuse towards performances."
Earlier this week, The Times reported that Newcastle is prepared to let Gordon leave for a fee of around $100 million (£75 million) this summer. That is a price that Liverpool agreed to pay for the player back in 2024.
Back then, the Magpies were up against PSR restrictions and needed to sell stars to avoid a sanction. In the end, however, they managed to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh instead, and Newcastle was therefore able to keep Gordon.

He later signed a new contract with Newcastle, which seemed to quiet the exit talk for a while, but not for that long. The rumors regarding a potential departure have never fully gone away.
This summer, Newcastle is expected to need to sell to buy again, despite the sale of Alexander Isak to Liverpool a year ago. Gordon appears to be one candidate to leave, with Sandro Tonali also linked with an exit.
Liverpool.com says: In the modern climate, $100M for Gordon, a proven Premier League winger who has scored 17 goals this season and would come with the added benefit of being homegrown, doesn't sound too bad.
There is definitely a case for that being a move Liverpool should consider, though Bayern Munich would be an exciting switch for the former Everton man too.
