Antoine Semenyo explains Man City squad's view on Arsenal's dip in form

Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo believes now is the perfect time to face Arsenal, with the Gunners having suffered a dip in form ahead of Sunday's crucial Premier League title decider at the Etihad

Manchester City star Antoine Semenyo has issued a bold challenge to Arsenal ahead of Sunday's pivotal title showdown.

Pep Guardiola's side have trimmed the gap at the Premier League summit to just six points and with a game in hand, City's destiny is firmly back in their own hands.

Semenyo believes the timing couldn't be better to welcome Arsenal to the Etihad, with Mikel Arteta's side having won just once in their last five matches across all competitions - including a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth in their most recent Premier League fixture.

"Our form over the last couple of games has been good and we're playing probably the best football we've played in the second half of the season," he told In The Mixer, brought to you by Sky Bet, reports the Manchester Evening News.

"So it's a good time to play them, I guess. Where they've dipped in form, we've picked up form, so it'll be interesting."

Semenyo, 26, has proved instrumental in keeping City's title challenge alive since his £64million move from Bournemouth in January. The Ghana international has netted eight goals and contributed three assists across 19 appearances for his new side, with telling contributions against Tottenham, Leeds and Nottingham Forest.

The winger insists the squad feel fully prepared for their most significant fixture of the campaign, even as they attempt to downplay its magnitude. "We were excited, to be honest," Semenyo added. "I feel like we're ready for the game Sunday. It's gonna be a big one. Title-deciding, maybe? I don't know.

"But it's gonna be a tough game, don't get me wrong. They've obviously lost against Bournemouth but they're still top of the table.

"We're still chasing them. So we have to give them respect in that sense."
