Liverpool welcomed back Federico Chiesa to training on Tuesday but Ibrahima Konate and Joe Gomez were both absent to compound Arne Slot's injury concerns ahead of the Qarabag game.

Chiesa and Konate missed the missed the last two games but were expected to be available for the Champions League encounter against Qarabag on Wednesday.

Konate has been in France for the last week on compassionate leave following the sad passing of his father, while Chiesa sustained a knock ahead of the Marseille encounter which meant he was not named on the bench last week, and also sat out the trip to Bournemouth on Saturday.

"Federico wasn't able to be on the bench on Wednesday," Slot said on Friday ahead of the 3-2 defeat at the Vitality.

"There was a recovery session yesterday, so we have to wait and see today. It's difficult for me to say whether he is available for Bournemouth.

"We don't expect him to be out for long, so it would be 50/50 maybe if he is available for tomorrow."

Meanwhile, Gomez also missed training on Tuesday after he was replaced in the first half of the Bournemouth defeat following a collision with Alisson.

"Joe got a knock from Ali. His knee went into… I think it was bone on bone," Slot said on Saturday.

"He was just not able to continue and Ali had quite a swelling in his knee. I don't know if Joe is going to train in two or three days, that is difficult for me to say, but it was clear he could not go on today."

Long-term absentees Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni and Alexander Isak were missing from Tuesday's open-media session.

The Reds host Qarabag in the final game of the Champions League league phase. A win will guarantee an automatic spot in the last-16, while a draw may also be sufficient.
