Arne Slot has insisted he is happy with Liverpool's decision not to have a large squad despite its lengthy injury list.
Last summer, the Reds made history by spending around $600 million on new transfers, bringing in high-profile signings such as Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak, marking the biggest single-window outlay in soccer history, but the squad has struggled with its depth due to injuries.
Isak remains sidelined with a broken leg but is making progress and could return toward the end of the month. Wataru Endo has had surgery on the injury he sustained at Sunderland. Meanwhile, Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni continue to be out with long-term injuries. Meanwhile, fans have been offered a "positive" update on Wirtz's return from injury.

The Reds face just two home fixtures this month, alongside four away games, while the progress in both the FA Cup and Champions League remains firmly in Liverpool's own hands.
March has already started badly with a defeat to Wolves on Tuesday, with the Reds looking to get revenge on Rob Edwards' side in the FA Cup.

On the packed schedule and the possibility of being able to rotate his squad, Slot said: "I am so happy with what we did last summer. We signed such great players.
"Some of them needed time to adapt and others have been injured. You can't predict that.
"We knew some adaptation would be needed, but you can't prepare for injuries. Our model is not to have a huge squad. I am really happy with that."
Despite Liverpool's business last summer, the Reds have had a poor title defense, currently sitting sixth in the Premier League. Slot believes that the progress within his squad has had its setbacks due to injuries.
"You see individual players getting better and better", said Slot in his pre-Wolves press conference. Progress has had setbacks due to injuries.
"One of the players who creates is Florian Wirtz. He got injured three games ago. Before that team had a certain balance and we've had to adjust again. That's happened a lot this season.
"There are periods we have conceded a lot of goals on counter-attacks and set-pieces. Against Wolves, we conceded on counter-attack, but I see an improvement overall in defending them.
"Not all the games have improved in terms of creating chances. But we're not the only team that finds it hard to create from open play. It's the qualify of the league that makes it more complicated."
