Liverpool U21 coach Rob Page has revealed Jayden Danns will undergo a medical on Tuesday to determine his fitness levels ahead of a possible return to action.
The Liverpool forward has been limited to just four appearances this season across senior and junior teams due to injury. Danns had built his way back to full fitness over the summer following a back injury that curtailed his 2024/25 campaign.
A stress fracture was discovered when the youth-team graduate underwent a medical ahead of a mid-season loan to Sunderland, then of the Championship. The issue prevented Danns from featuring at all for the Black Cats.

But just four days later, he suffered a serious hamstring problem that has prevented him from playing for the past five months.
The injury required surgery, and Liverpool.com reported last month that several stitches became dislodged, which impacted his recovery.
Speaking to Redmen TV after the Under-21s’ 4-3 win over West Brom on Sunday, Page said there could be a positive update on Danns soon.

“Jayden is doing really well. We do have a medical meeting on Tuesday, so I’ll know more then to what level he’s at.
“Every morning he’s out on the grass, and he’s getting better and better, stronger and stronger every day.”
The 20-year-old has made 10 first-team appearances and is highly regarded by Arne Slot. The Dutchman even admitted at the end of January that, had Danns been available, he would likely have played some part due to Alexander Isak’s absence.
"Jayden, if he would have been fit, would be in the squad. Unfortunately, he isn’t, and we don’t expect him back today or tomorrow as well.
“He’s been very unlucky in his career until now, but he has a great mentality and is always fighting back after setbacks.
"He has had, unfortunately, quite a lot because this would have been a great moment for him with Alexander Isak being out, and with the quality he has, being with us and helped us in certain.
“Unfortunately for him and for us, he has faced a lot of injuries, but he will fight back and come back, and the world will get to know him, the moment he is fit again.”
Danns was also named on the bench for the Champions League win over Atletico Madrid in September and made four appearances last season under Slot.
