Mohamed Salah exited Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace with a suspected hamstring injury, and Arne Slot isn't sure how serious it could be in a worrying update

Liverpool head coach Arne Slot admitted that Mohamed Salah's injury summed up the "story of our season," but couldn't provide a timeline for his return as fans fear the worst.
Salah clutched his hamstring in the second half of Liverpool's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, and applauded the Anfield crowd as he slowly made his way off the field. Salah applauded the crowd and soaked in what could be his final appearance in a Liverpool jersey.
Liverpool only has four games remaining this season, with the final game at home to Brentford just one month away. A hamstring injury could rule Salah out for the rest of the season, and Slot admitted that Liverpool needs to assess his condition before providing a conclusive update.

It's the story of our season. It's too early to say, but we all know Mo and how hard it is for him to leave the pitch.
"For Mo to leave the pitch, it shows you something, but we have to wait and see how bad it is." Salah appeared emotional as he walked off, and while he could return this season, it would be a disappointing way to end his Liverpool career.
Salah confirmed earlier this year that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the campaign, agreeing to cancel the final year of his contract, which runs through the 2026-27 season. Andy Robertson will also leave the club, but he doesn't appear to be too concerned about Salah's injury.

"I'm sure the next two home games will be special for me and Mo and at least we can leave with the club in a great position," he said after the game. Robertson celebrated a special moment at Anfield as he scored Liverpool's second goal against Palace, his first Premier League goal under Slot.
Alexander Isak opened the scoring before Robertson doubled Liverpool's lead, but Palace pulled one back in controversial circumstances. Third-choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman went down injured, and Palace defender Daniel Munoz lobbed the ball into an empty net.
Slot was furious on the sidelines, but Liverpool restored its two-goal lead as Florian Wirtz scored late to seal a 3-1 victory. Still, Slot was upset with how Palace handled the situation and frustrated that the referee didn't take control.

"It was a lot more nervy because of the goal," Slot said after the game. "I don't think we deserved to concede it in that fashion. Palace were much more in the game than the 2-0 showed. Is there a game we play where there isn't talk point about the referee?"
"The number of times I've played against a team and then a player is on the floor and the referee blows the whistle. It happened against Man Utd when Mac Allister was on the floor, they played on and Macca needed five stitches afterwards. I don't blame them, by the way, the referee should stop the game.
"It's going to become a tactic to pretend you're injured so the referee stops the play. He did it about four times today.
"Munoz, I think it's 50-50 because some players wouldn't have taken the shot. Some players would stop and some would score. I don't blame him as much as I blame the referee."
