Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is hopeful that Alisson could return to training this week more than a month on from his last appearance for the Reds.
Alisson has struggled to stay fit over the last couple of years, and has not figured for Liverpool since a 4-0 Champions League win over Galatasaray on April 3.
Giorgi Mamardashvili had been standing in for Alisson, but the Georgian suffered a fitness issue of his own during Sunday's Merseyside derby, with Freddie Woodman replacing him in the second half.
Speaking to club media about Alisson's road to recovery, Slot said: "We’re hoping that he could start somewhere during the week his team sessions again. Let’s see when that is and then what is the right decision to make.

"We don’t have three full-backs or No. 9s or left wingers. I have to give a big compliment to Freddie.
"It’s a difficult moment to come in and we had just conceded the 1-1, but we was calm and did his job as he needed to do. One time it was a bit close, but I think that was a foul on him. The fourth official said he [the referee] would have blown his whistle if the ball had gone in."
Woodman acquitted himself well after coming on in the 58th minute, keeping a clean sheet as Liverpool went on to win 2-1 courtesy of a late Virgil van Dijk goal.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper came in for praise from Andy Robertson after the game. "He is a credit to himself," Robertson said.

"Since he has come in, he has been unbelievable. Whether that’s Mo Salah wanting to stay out and do penalties after training, Woody is one there doing that with him.
“Whether it is running after the game where the lads have been dragged out, like I’ve done [after the game] at PSG, and he is always there to do it and to support.
“These people at a club like this are so important. Maybe they don’t always get the credit they deserve, don’t always get the limelight and stuff like that, but when he walked back in the changing room there, I think he got a nice reception.
“He is a well-loved player who has fitted in so well. It maybe took him a few weeks to actually talk to any of us! He was a bit nervous but once he settled in, he showed his quality as well.”
