Arne Slot was subjected to merciless "sacked in the morning" chants from Manchester City fans as Liverpool suffered a humiliating 4-0 FA Cup quarterfinal thrashing.
An Erling Haaland hat-trick, coupled with an Antoine Semenyo strike, wrapped up a commanding victory for Pep Guardiola's men, with the home faithful reveling in every moment. Guardiola himself was absent from the dugout, serving a touchline ban, yet his presence was hardly missed as City swept Liverpool aside with ease.
All four goals came within a breathless 20-minute spell, leaving Slot helpless in the stands as his side capitulated. The Etihad faithful were in full voice during that devastating spell, breaking into the Poznan before bellowing "you're getting sacked (fired) in the morning" toward the Liverpool boss.

The 33-year-old mustered four attempts throughout the match, with two of those wayward efforts from close range proving particularly alarming.
It was yet another underwhelming outing from Liverpool's talisman, prompting a scathing assessment from Ally McCoist.

Speaking on TNT Sports, he said: "I didn't fancy him [to score the penalty]. I didn't fancy him at all. It's a shame because he looks a shadow of the man that has lit up this league and lit up this country.
"It's a shame he's going out this way. He doesn't look like a confident man or a confident player at this moment in time."
The scrutiny surrounding Slot's position appears to have intensified since early March, with Liverpool securing just two victories from a possible seven fixtures.
The Liverpool manager offered a particularly scathing assessment following the match, highlighting recurring issues that have troubled his team throughout the campaign.
He told TNT Sport: "What has been missing for large parts of the season, converting our chances into goals.
"I think it was an even game up until they scored the penalty, and the last time we played here, we conceded just before half-time and again today. We get a penalty, and we get a chance, but that doesn't tell me anything.
The first 35 minutes was the sort of team I would like to see, but the 20 minutes after that, we have to defend so, so much better than we were doing today.
"Not nice to go in at 2-0 just before half-time, not helpful for your mood, especially after the season we have had. That was really hard to take. The only good thing was that we didn't concede more."
