Arsenal and Man City's final points tallies predicted after latest Premier League twist

1 hour ago 24

Arsenal and Manchester City are embroiled in a two-horse race for the Premier League title, which took quite the twist this weekend at such a crucial part of the season

Arsenal will clinch their first Premier League title in more than two decades come May, if the experts' predictions ring true.

The Gunners currently sit six points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league table, as they head into their last six matches of the season.

However, the title race took a dramatic twist on Saturday, when Arsenal dropped vital points in a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth on home soil. It means that Pep Guardiola's City could catch Mikel Arteta's men if they beat them in this weekend's clash at the Etihad Stadium, and win their valuable game in hand they hold.

It makes this Sunday's encounter between the two all that more important, considering it could fully determine the outcome of both team's season.

But if the number crunchers at Opta are right, then it will be Arsenal who succeed in their endeavours of securing their first league title since the 'Invincibles' campaign of 2003/04 next month.

As per the firm, Arsenal will finish atop the table with a tally of 82.10 points in total, still six points clear of City who they see finishing on 76.57.

Opta have also given the Gunners an 86.66 per cent chance of clinching the league title, to City's mere 13.34 per cent.

With both teams given guaranteed 100 per cent chances of securing Champions League football for 2026/27, the analysts see Aston Villa, Manchester United and Liverpool making up the rest of the top five.

Here's how Opta see the season playing out...

1) Arsenal - 82.10

2) Manchester City - 76.57

3) Aston Villa - 64.82

4) Manchester United - 63.82

5) Liverpool - 61.24
