Arsenal can create transfer frenzy with perfect Viktor Gyokeres announcement plan

Arsenal are heading out on their pre-season tour of Asia on Saturday, with Mikel Arteta's squad due to fly out to Singapore ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

While out on tour, the Gunners will be taking on AC Milan, Newcastle United - both in Singapore - and then north London rivals Tottenham in Hong Kong.

Prior to jetting out, Arsenal will be playing a behind closed doors friendly with Watford at their London Colney training ground on Saturday and all eyes will be on what happens there and who is involved.

Arsenal have already confirmed four new signings this summer - Kepa Arrizabalaga and Noni Madueke from Chelsea, Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad and Christian Norgaard from Brentford - with all four expected to be on the plane to Asia.

After the behind closed doors friendly, Arsenal supporters' eyes will be on the club's social media feeds, to see which players in the squad are pictured boarding the plane, or on the official website to see if a travelling squad is announced.

Cristhian Mosquera is expected to be the fifth new signing as part of the squad flying out, after his transfer from Valencia was leaked online, with pictures showing him doing club interviews amongst the Madueke announcement.

But the sixth, and potentially most exciting new signing for Arsenal fans, has yet to be announced.

Viktor Gyokeres is the striker the supporters have been craving with a deal agreed between Arsenal and Sporting CP for his transfer. The two clubs have agreed on a £63.4million package for the striker, but the transfer has not been confirmed because they are negotiating the breakdown of the fee.

Arteta wanted Gyokeres in before flying out to Asia, but that has not been the case and when he does sign, the Swede will have to make his own way out to join up with his new teammates.

However, Arsenal could send their supporters into a transfer frenzy with a bold and exciting transfer announcement.

As we have said, there are likely to be pictures and videos of the squad boarding the plane for Singapore on Saturday afternoon or evening and Arsenal would send their supporters into a frenzy if Gyokeres just happened to be snapped a the first or last player to board the plane, thus announcing his arrival as a Gunners player.

For that to happen, however, we are likely to need a Mosquera transfer confirmation first.
