Here are five things we learnt following Arsenal's 3-1 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich

Arsenal remain the only team to still boast a 100 per cent record in the Champions League after demolishing Bayern Munich 3-1.

The Gunners were initially in a dog-fight with the German giants after Lennart Karl had cancelled out Jurrien Timber's opener.

But after Leandro Trossard went off injured in the first half, substitutes Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli both had a point to prove and found the target after entering the field.

Both attackers are now pushing for starts this weekend at Chelsea and this was a win that will give Arsenal huge confidence ahead of their trip to Stamford Bridge. Here are five Arsenal talking points from the Emirates Stadium.

Magic Zubimendi Arsenal's new MVP

Arsenal were forced to wait a considerable amount of time to bring Martin Zubimendi to the club but boy was he worth the wait.

There is now a genuine argument that he has become Arsenal's most-important player.

A deal with Real Sociedad had been kept under wraps for months in the summer before the Spaniard finally flew into London.

But he has been worth every penny because he has taken Arteta's engine room to another level.

Thomas Partey was a reliable figure at the base of Arsenal's midfield but Zubimendi is so much more than that.

His passes into the final third, both in the air and on the deck, create mayhem and he's so confident and stylish in possession.

He must be a dream for the likes of Declan Rice and Eberechi Eze to play with because he just keeps giving them the ball.

What a player and what an addition, if he's able to stay fit he could just prove to be the difference-maker come the end of the campaign.

Arteta's dejection over Trossard injury

Mikel Arteta cut a dejected figure when he embraced Leandro Trossard on the touchline as the Belgian left the field with an injury problem.

It looks as if the left-winger has picked up a calf issue and that is a major blow when you consider the Gunners travel to second-place Chelsea on Sunday in the Premier League.

Trossard is in fine goalscoring form and has found the net in each of his past two top-flight matches after bagging a goal and assist against Tottenham in the North London Derby.

You do just wonder whether Arteta will be feeling any regret over his decision to start Trossard, particularly now Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli are back fit.

The former Brighton marksman has really locked down the role in recent times but there is a genuine argument he might have played too much football over the past month or so.

We'll await an update from Arteta on the severity of the injury but it's clear to see the Spaniard was notably concerned as Trossard usually plays through the pain barrier. On this occasion he could not continue.

Arteta protects Lewis-Skelly as left-back struggles

Thomas Tuchel was here to watch Arsenal's England stars and captain Harry Kane.

He's been itching to see Myles Lewis-Skelly in action and unfortunately, it was a tough night for the young left-back.

Bayern's equaliser was manufactured down Lewis-Skelly's flank by Michael Olise and Lennart Karl left him for dead in the second half.

Tuchel will surely provide MLS with some leeway because he's likely rusty due to his lack of minutes but this was not a display that will fill him with confidence.

Olise and Karl are the kind of players Lewis-Skelly could be up against at next summer's World Cup and he was dragged into deep waters.

At this moment in time, Nico O'Reilly and Dan Burn can breathe a sigh of relief.

Arteta did show his managerial class though because when Lewis-Skelly was beaten by Olise, he sensed it was the right time to bring on Riccardo Calafiori.

Moments later, MLS hooked a clearnace off the pitch and Arteta ordered to the ref he wanted to make the change. It was the right decision because fast forward two minutes and Calafiori had crossed for Madueke to score.

Martinelli slides down pecking order - but still has say

Perhaps Arteta has a greater idea about Gabriel Martinelli's fitness levels but it appears he is now Arsenal's third-choice left-winger.

Leandro Trossard started the match but he was replaced by goalscorer Noni Madueke after picking up a first-half injury.

Both Madueke and Martinelli have been sidelined with knee and groin issues respectively in recent weeks However, Arteta appeared to confirm both were in contention to start against Bayern.

Madueke came off the bench on Sunday against Tottenham while Martinelli was an unused substitute.

The duo certainly got their point across from the bench and that hunger will drive Arsenal on this season.

It's clear the Brazilian has got some work to do if he's to wrestle back the tide and reclaim a regular starting berth but a goal certainly will do him no harm.
