Arsenal will welcome Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero in 2027 having agreed to sign the duo from Independiente Del Valle
Ecuadorian twins Edwin and Holger Quintero will join Arsenal in 2027 and while they are viewed as youth players, there is hope for a quick progression into the first-team squad, football.london understands. The Independiente Del Valle duo have been touted for a bright future which means the Gunners' early move is no surprise.
Arsenal have been able to bring several talented stars through their academy over the last few years including Bukayo Saka, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis Skelly. Max Dowman is the latest youngster to make a big impression in the senior team.
Despite that, looking elsewhere for talent has become more common in recent years with football.london already reporting that, for many years now, there has been a lot more investment in South American talent and scouting.
The Quintero twins are proof of that move with Arsenal looking towards the future as some of their attacking stars get older.
Having come from the academy that produced Pierro Hincapie along with Chelsea's Moises Caicedo and Kendry Paez, it seems very likely they will have bright futures and Arsenal will hope that is in north London.
There is not too much information available on the pair but both teenagers have played for Ecuador's youth teams and Edwin has impressed with three goal contributions from six appearances at the under-17s South America Championship.
The previous year he again notched three goal contributions as Ecuador under-15s made it to the South American Championship finals but lost to Paraguay on penalties.
He has drawn comparisons to a young Neymar as a quick and skilful right winger that can also play in midfield. Holger, meanwhile, prefers to be deployed in central attacking areas.
Arsenal have already reached a pre-agreement with another exciting talent as Victor Ozhianvuna is set to join he from Shamrock Rovers in 2027, when he turns 18.
It has been a mixed period for Arsenal's youth set up with the under-21s currently sitting 14th in Premier League 2 while the under-19s have struggled in this season UEFA Youth League with their recent win over Bayern Munich their first in European competition after four consecutive defeats.
A landmark achievement also arrived in that 4-2 win against Bayern Munich with Luis Munoz making history by becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the UEFA Youth League at just 13-years-old.
Dowman also scored a superb goal in that victory having already become the youngest player ever to appear in the Champions League at just 15 years and 308 days of age.
He is also the youngest player to start a game for Arsenal as he was named in the team for his side's recent Carabao Cup clash against Brighton.
Despite that, there have also been concerns over the pathway from the academy to the first-team with Ayden Heaven and Chido Obi joining Manchester United in recent years.
