Michelle Agyemang served as a ball girl in England's Euro 2021 game against Northern Ireland. Four years later, the 19-year-old went on to score a 96th-minute goal that would help the Lionesses to a Euros final.
Agyemang is of Ghanaian descent, with her surname translating to "saviour of a nation". The teenager put the title to good use during the Lionesses' Euro 2025 semi-final against Italy after equalising and forcing that match-up into extra-time.
So, what do we know about the Lionesses super-sub? football.london has taken a look at Agyemang's background and her path to becoming a potential European Championships hero.
Where did Michelle Agyemang grow up?
Growing up in Essex, Agyemang was an Arsenal fan and signed for their youth academy at the age of six. She made her debut for Arsenal's academy team in the 2022/23 season, making 11 appearances and being named the top goal scorer across all competitions.
The Agyemang family is entirely football-focused, with her brother also playing and her father coaching grassroots clubs. While her family supports various London clubs such as Chelsea and West Ham, the 19-year-old has firmly remained a Gunner her whole life.

What club does Agyemang play for?
Agyemang made her debut for Arsenal's senior team in 2022 during their 4-0 win over Leicester City at just 16 years old. The teenager made her first European club appearance as a substitute in Arsenal's 3-2 defeat against VfL Wolfsburg in May 2023.
She went on to sign for Watford on loan later that year and, despite suffering a minor knee injury which ruled her out for half of the season, scored five goals in ten appearances.
The 19 year-old signed her first professional contract with Arsenal last year. "Arsenal Football Club is like family to me," she said, underlining just what the club means to her.
Agyemang was sent out on loan once again for the 2024/25 season, this time with Brighton and Hove Albion. In 22 appearances for the Seagulls, she scored five goals as well as securing her first international call-up for the England Women's senior team.
When did Agyemang get her first international call-up?
Agyemang made her international debut in April 2025 as a replacement for the injured Alessia Russo. The 19-year-old scored in England's National League match against Belgium 41 seconds after coming on, despite the Lionesses going on to lose the game 3-2.
In Tuesday's Euro 2025 semi-final against Italy, she was brought on as a substitute in injury time. It appeared as if England were going to be sent home, until Agyemang slotted the ball into the left-hand corner in the 96th minute.
The last-minute goal sent the match to extra-time, with Chloe Kelly going on to score on the rebound after her penalty was saved, sending the Lionesses into the Euro 2025 final. Sarina Weigman later described Agyemang and her contribution to the match as "something special".
With three international goals to her name so far, Agyemang looks to have a promising future as one of the key figures in the Lionesses squad.
