Former Manchester United full-back Gary Neville has spoken about the Premier League title race and the backlash he faced for one moment on commentary earlier in the month
Gary Neville has accused Arsenal fans of being paranoid after he received backlash for overcelebrating in Manchester City's victory over Liverpool. The Sky Sports commentator was criticised by some for enjoying City's late goals a little too much as they defeated the Reds.
Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland scored late goals as Pep Guardiola's side came from behind at Anfield to spark life into the title race. The result appeared to pile pressure onto Arsenal, who let two leads slip in draws against Brentford and Wolves before bouncing back against Tottenham.
The north London side remain top of the Premier League and hold a five-point advantage over City. Their rivals have a game in hand and still have Arsenal left to play, however, meaning both teams have a title in their own hands.
Nevertheless, Neville reckons Arsenal will claim a first title in more than 20 years. The ex-defender would even prefer the Gunners to be the side to taste success out of the two primary contenders.
"You know something, paranoia is incredible," Neville said on Stick to Football. "I think Arsenal will win it.

"Arsenal fans are p***** off with me because when City scored two in the last 10 minutes at Anfield, they thought I was over-celebrating. The fact of the matter is that it was big. By the way, Arsenal wobbled for a week or so afterwards, so it was big."
Neville then asked Ian Wright if he believed the Gunners would earn Premier League success. "I do," came the reply.
"We're joint top scorers, we've conceded the least goals. That's facts, bro. I'm not going on pure faith."
"You're bro-ing me off!" Neville interjected, sparking laughter around the table.

"I'm not bro-ing you off," said right. "I have to believe it. What they're trying to do and trying to finish, I have to believe. I've had faith from the start."
Ex-Manchester United captain Neville then asked Wright, why Arsenal fans believe he does not want to see Arsenal claim the title.
"I don't know," said the ex-Arsenal striker. "Ask the people who have a problem with your commentary."
"You'd rather Arsenal in the league than City wouldn't you?" offered Paul Scholes. "100 per cent. Of course I would," returned Neville.
