Rio Ferdinand has weighed in on the debate between Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus and Arsenal’s Noni Madueke ahead of the 25/26 season, where both will be looking to impress at new clubs.
Tottenham Hotspur have been busy this summer window, but so have the rest of the top sides in the Premier League.
Compared to their rivals, one could argue that for a side that finished in 17th, Tottenham have done little in the summer window, as they have spent only €145.60m (£123.7m) on new signings so far.
Fellow north London rivals have been a lot more active despite finishing second last term and going trophyless, spending €224.20m (£190.4m) – the third most in the league this summer.

Rio Ferdinand compares Tottenham’s Mohammed Kudus and Arsenal’s Noni Madueke
Both Tottenham and Arsenal have looked to bolster their attack ahead of the new season, with the Gunners securing the services of Noni Madueke and Viktor Gyokeres.
Spurs, on the other hand, have managed to secure the signing of Mohammed Kudus, spending £55m on the wide forward – a similar amount Arsenal paid for Madueke.
Speaking alongside Joel Beya, Rio Ferdinand was asked whether Kudus was the better player or signing compared to Madueke.
The former Manchester United defender did not outright pick one over the other but instead suggested the two players were quite evenly matched in terms of potential.
Starting the chat, Ferdinand asked: “Is Kudus massively better than Madueke?”
He then offered his thoughts: “I think potential wise I do not think there is a massive difference. I think the age is a big thing.
“The amount of games Madueke has played compared to Kudus, I think there is a big difference – he has not had the exposure in the Premier League, especially.
“I think Madueke has got a high ceiling, I think he can go places, I think he is a really good addition.”
Kudus beginning to shine for Spurs while Madueke still has more to prove
Mohammed Kudus has so far begun to show his quality in a Lilywhite shirt during pre-season with Tottenham. The Spurs winger has already managed an assist and has looked like a bright spark in attack for Tottenham.
His dribbling, pace and flair are his standout qualities, but the winger has since revealed what Thomas Frank wants him to improve on at Tottenham.
According to Kudus, Frank wants him to offer more without the ball and take up greater responsibility during defensive phases.
The 25-year-old would also want to improve his output in the final third this season at Tottenham, as the comparison with Madueke shows that the gap in quality between the players is very minimal.
