Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League title have been given a potential boost after Saturday's results.
The Gunners are expected to battle Liverpool for the league title this season, having missed out on the trophy to the Merseyside outfit last term.
Mikel Arteta's side were handed a huge boost after Liverpool suffered their first defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss away at Crystal Palace.
Arne Slot's side thought they'd rescued a late point when Federico Chiesa equalised late on after Ismaila Sarr's first-half strike, but former Gunner Eddie Nketiah did his old teammates a huge favour with goal in injury time.
The result came almost 24 hours before Arsenal faced Newcastle United in their Super Sunday fixture this weekend, and although the Gunners have been handed an opportunity to close the gap, the prediction still makes for disappointing reading.
Opta Analyst have crunched the numbers and have predicted how the final Premier League table will look.
According to the prediction, Arsenal are still expected to finish second in the final league table, despite Slot's men dropping points this weekend.
The predicted table has the Gunners accumulating 74 points (74.09) after all 38 matches have been played, which is almost five behind the prediction handed out to title winners Liverpool (78.89).
Arsenal have also been given a 27.88 percent chance of being crowned Premier League champions this season. Liverpool are still the favourites, with a 50.95 percent likelihood of retaining the trophy.
Manchester City are the club predicted to finish third in the final Premier League table with 68 points (67.84). Crystal Palace are behind them in fourth with 63 points (63.31) after their win over Liverpool, while Chelsea are fifth (58.11).
Arsenal will be determined to close the gap on leaders Liverpool before the October international break. After facing Newcastle, the Gunners will take on West Ham at the Emirates Stadium in their next fixture next weekend, while Liverpool will travel to face Chelsea.
