Arsenal travel to Everton in the Premier League next weekend in what will be their first ever visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium
Everton already look somewhat depleted ahead of next weekend's Premier League home clash against Arsenal.
The Toffees were beaten 2-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday on a deflating afternoon in west London.
Not only are Senegal international duo Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye now off to the Africa Cup of Nations but key attacking pair Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish appear to have picked up injuries.
Ex-Chelsea attacking midfielder Dewsbury-Hall was subbed off after just 16 minutes due to a hamstring issue.
The former Leicester man has been in sublime form of late, netting in three of his past four outings prior to the game against Chelsea.
He now looks almost certain to miss the clash with Arsenal and that is a major boost for the Gunners. David Moyes later admitted that his £28million signing had felt something in the area before the game.
The Everton boss said: “I’ll find out later what it is, he had a bit of tightness already and then he felt in during the game.
Grealish also felt a similar problem in the closing stages at Stamford Bridge and was replaced by Tyler Dibling for the final six minutes.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Moyes said on the issue: "Jack felt his hamstring so we just need to be careful with these boys.”
If Dewsbury-Hall and Grealish were unable to prove their fitness for the game with Arsenal, it would mean Everton would be without three of their starting forwards.
Carlos Alcaraz and Dibling have been vying for more regular opportunities after arriving in the summer from Flamengo and Southampton, respectively.
The Merseyside outfit have also been on the receiving end of two ruthless thrashings at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, losing 3-0 to Tottenham in October before recently going down 4-1 to Newcastle.
Moyes has won just six of his 45 meetings against Arsenal throughout his illustrious managerial career. The game will also see Mikel Arteta return to his former club.
Arsenal, who beat Wolves 2-1 on Saturday night following stoppage-time drama, also have a full week of training ahead of travelling to Merseyside and that is key because they have played lots of midweek games of late.
