Mikel Arteta has confirmed a triple injury boost for Arsenal, with Gabriel Magalhaes, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard available for selection for the Champions League quater-final at Sporting CP. There was, however, confirmation that Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka will not be fit for the game.
Arsenal take on Sporting in the first leg of the quarter-final on Tuesday night (8pm kick-off), with the second leg taking place just over a week later at the Emirates Stadium.
Ahead of the game, there were injury doubts over Gabriel, Rice, Bukayo Saka, Piero Hincapie, Jurrien Timber and Leandro Trossard. Eberechi Eze and Mikel Merino are ruled out of the tie through injury.
When asked in his pre-match press conference if Gabriel, Rice and Trossard were available for the game, Arteta said: "Yes, yes and yes."
But giving an update on Timber and Saka, the Arsenal boss added: "They haven't travelled and not ready yet, hopefully for the weekend if everything goes well."
Timber has been struggling with injury for the last three weeks, and did look to be in contention to return vs Southampton. But he wasn't included in the squad for the FA Cup clash, with eyes now on a return at the weekend ahead of the second leg.
It was a similar situation for Saka, who was absent from the squad vs Southampton, and will now miss the first leg against Sporting.
