Mikel Arteta could welcome back a couple of big names for Arsenal's clash against Newcastle United. The Gunners will lock horns with Eddie Howe's side at St. James' Park on Sunday afternoon as they each look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Gabriel Martinelli snatched a point for the Gunners against Manchester City Stadium last weekend, while Bournemouth held the Magpies to a goalless draw. Speaking to reporters ahead of the highly-anticipated match, Arteta was asked about his game plan.
"Every game will be different," said the Spaniard. "I didn’t like the first minutes that we played at the Emirates against them, I like other parts of it. There are a lot of parts I liked about the games we played at St James’ Park, but not especially when we conceded the goals but we will have to be better.
"I think the level is better, their level will rise, our level will rise and we’re going to have to be at our best. If we do that, we’re going to have a good chance to win the game."
The north London outfit have lost each of their last three games at St. James' Park, so Arteta will have his work cut out. With that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Arsenal injury news.

Bukayo Saka
Dowman replaced Saka an hour or so into Arsenal's clash against Port Vale. The 24-year-old winger, who's recently returned to action following a hamstring injury, was on the receiving end of a heavy tackle shortly before coming off.
What Arteta has said: "Yeah, nothing to report there. I think he's played the games that we anticipated, he did well, he feels good and he will be training the next few days."
Expected return date: Newcastle (A) – Premier League – Sunday, September 28.
Piero Hincapie
Hincapie recently suffered a groin injury. The 23-year-old defender was not named in either of Arsenal's last two matchday squads against Manchester City and Port Vale.
What Arteta has said: "He picked up a little groin injury. We'll have to assess him again in the next few days to see how he goes. There's been a change of load, and he didn't really have a pre-season after the surgery that he had.
"We'll have to see in the next week or so how he is. No, I think it will be a short time."
Expected return date: Newcastle (A) – Premier League – Sunday, September 28.
Martin Odegaard
Odegaard aggravated his shoulder injury during Arsenal's clash against Nottingham Forest, and he was replaced by Ethan Nwaneri after only 18 minutes. The 26-year-old midfielder appeared to have overcome the problem he sustained last month, but he was forced to miss last weekend's draw with Manchester City.
What Arteta has said: "Martin will be training with us the next two days so hopefully he'll be available for the game."
Expected return date: Newcastle (A) – Premier League – Sunday, September 28.
Kai Havertz
Last month, Havertz complained about discomfort in his knee. The 26-year-old forward later underwent surgery on the problem, and, while he's been recovering 'pretty well', Arteta believes his lay-off could be months rather than weeks.
What Arteta has said: "With Kai, we know that it will be months with him. I don't know if it can be weeks, you never know because this is Kai and he's a different specimen. We really miss him.
"Hopefully, he will be back, and back for the long term as well, so it is very important to look after that knee. So far, he's progressing pretty well."
Expected return date: November.
Noni Madueke
Madueke was forced off at half-time during Arsenal's clash against Manchester City due to a knee injury. The 23-year-old winger is said to be sidelined for two months.
What Arteta has said: "Yes, it looks like he's going to be out for a few weeks. We don't know yet, we're probably going to have to scan him next week again. He felt something at the beginning of the match, he tried to carry on, and at half-time, he was too sore, so let’s see.
"We hope [it's weeks rather than months]. As I said, we need to scan him again to see the real extent of the injury, but it doesn't look too bad."
On if Madueke has had a scan yet, Arteta told reporters on Friday: "No, not yet."
Expected return date: November.
Gabriel Jesus
Jesus remains out of action after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of the year. The 28-year-old striker has stepped up his rehabilitation programme in recent weeks, but he might not be in a position to play again until the festive period.
What Arteta has said: "He had major surgery that was going to take him many, many months. So, after discussing that with the medical staff and understanding the schedule that we had and when we thought that he could be available, that it would be between December and January, we decided to make that call, like we've done in the past with other players. Hopefully, we did it wrong and he comes back earlier. But at the moment, the provision was very clear."
Expected return date: December or January.
