Arsenal land huge title race advantage as Man City rocked by new triple fixture setback

Arsenal moved seven points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League on Wednesday night when they ground out a crucial win on the road at Brighton

Arsenal will have the chance to move a whopping 10 points clear of Manchester City next weekend before Pep Guardiola's men even kick a ball at West Ham.

Yesterday, prior to the Gunners' 1-0 victory at Brighton, the Premier League confirmed their revised TV schedule to accommodate the latest round of European fixtures.

It's safe to say Arsenal are the beneficiaries where the title race is concerned as they will now play before City in three of their next four top-flight matches.

The one exception is Sunday, April 19 when the two title contenders will collide at the Etihad Stadium in a heavyweight clash City simply cannot afford to lose.

Next weekend, Arsenal host Everton in what will be their last Premier League game for about five and a half weeks due to the international break, FA Cup and Champions League schedule.

They host the Toffees at 5:30pm on March 14 before City travel to West Ham on the Sunday following a huge Champions League last 16 fixture away to Real Madrid.

Beyond that, Arsenal then host Bournemouth on April 11 at 12:30pm before City travel to London to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge (April 12, 4:30pm kick-off).

The two teams then meet in Manchester before the Gunners take on Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday, April 25 (5:30pm kick-off).

The following day, City then make the short trip to Burnley to face Scott Parker's Clarets at Turf Moor (2pm kick-off).

Arsenal have just eight matches left in the Premier League, though the finish line still feels some distance away due to the congested schedule.

They do not face Crystal Palace away on the final day until May 24, while City finish up at home to Aston Villa.

Crucially, Arsenal only leave the capital once in their final eight fixtures and that is when they head north to lock horns with City.

The Premier League schedule for the final month of the season has not yet been completed and is expected to be confirmed in early April.

City also have a home fixture against last season's FA Cup final opponents Crystal Palace that needs to be rescheduled.
