Arsenal are still savouring their stunning 3-1 win over Bayern Munich. The Gunners are leading the pack in both the Premier League and Champions League and will be keen to maintain momentum in their upcoming clash with Chelsea.
Mikel Arteta's squad had a European night to remember on Wednesday, with goals from Jurrien Timber, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli putting Arsenal firmly in the running for Champions League glory. The Gunners' European campaign has been flawless and they've also suffered only one defeat in the Premier League.
Arteta's team are six points clear at the top of the league and will be determined not to let Chelsea close the gap. Football London takes a closer look at some of the latest Arsenal news.
Arsenal revenge warning
Harry Kane has warned Arsenal that Bayern Munich will come back stronger when they face each other again in the Champions League. The England skipper anticipates another encounter between the sides in the knockout stages of the competition, where Bayern will be out for revenge against the Gunners.
Kane felt Bayern put up a good fight in the first half, managing to keep the score level at half-time. However, while Bayern's intensity waned, Arsenal kept up their energy after the break.
"They won the first and second balls. Set pieces, we knew they would be dangerous," Kane said. " I'm sure we'll see them [Arsenal] again in the later stages of the Champions League."
He added: "It's our first loss of the season. We don't want to panic too much about it. But we will learn about it for sure."
Ballon d'Or claim
Declan Rice proved pivotal to Arsenal's performance against Bayern. The midfielder delivered yet another commanding display that underlines precisely why he's regarded among the world's best in his position.
The 26-year-old is set to lock horns with one of the Premier League's other standout midfielders in Chelsea's Moises Caicedo on Sunday. However, Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has suggested neither player matches PSG's Vitinha.
"Vitinha, best midfielder in the world," Frank told TNT Sports. "He'll be the next Ballon d'Or winner for me."
The Spurs boss's comments came after his team's 5-3 loss to PSG, with Vitinha scoring a hat-trick. Whether Vitinha can follow in the footsteps of his teammate Ousmane Dembele and claim the coveted individual honour next year remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, Rice is focused on his forthcoming duel with Caicedo. The England international has responded to claims that he might develop a new rivalry with the Chelsea ace, reminiscent of the iconic clashes between Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira and Manchester United's Roy Keane.
"First and foremost, I have a lot of respect for Moises. I've played against him since his Brighton days, back when I was at West Ham," Rice told CBS Sports. "I voted for him last year in my PFA Team of the Year. I thought he was outstanding and he has started this year incredibly well.
"There are so many comparisons between us, but we are playing different positions. He is a full-blown No6 and I am more of a box-to-box No8. Sunday is going to be an interesting game, but the most important thing is I have a lot of respect for him, like Roy and Patrick did. It's an exciting battle between us and it's one that I'll be ready for, for sure."
