Arsenal are looking to assert their control of the Premier League title race as they host Brentford on Wednesday following the 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

After Moises Caicedo's first-half dismissal and Trevoh Chalobah putting the 10 men ahead, Arsenal salvaged a point courtesy of a Mikel Merino goal. However, they level Stamford Bridge frustrated, with their lead over Manchester City reduced to five points.

With a packed fixture list, including a midweek round of games before a trip to Aston Villa on Saturday, Mikel Arteta knows the need for a commanding performance against Brentford. Here's a round-up of the latest Arsenal news...

Gunners contact Mendes

Arsenal have reached out to influential agent Jorge Mendes regarding Juventus prodigy Kenan Yildiz, according to reports.

Although Mendes is not officially representing Yildiz, he has been entrusted with the task of identifying potential new clubs for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder. Per Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal are among the clubs to have approached Mendes regarding Yildiz, whose contract negotiations with Juventus appear to have hit a stumbling block.

The Turin giants have reportedly offered him a new deal worth £4.4million a year, with the player looking for closer to £6m. However, financial terms aren't the only sticking point in negotiations, as Yildiz, whose current contract runs until 2029, is understood to be keen on securing assurances about his role as a key player at the club.

This standoff could potentially benefit Arsenal, who have reportedly been 'captivated' by Yildiz's displays this season.

Twins jet in

Ecuadorian twin brothers Edwin, a right winger, and Holger Quintero, an attacking midfielder, have travelled to London this week to complete their moves to the Gunners, according to ESPN.

The 16-year-old pair, who currently play for Independiente del Valle, are set to put pen to paper on agreements that will see them officially become Arsenal players in August 2027 when they turn 18.

While neither has featured at senior level yet, both have represented Ecuador at under-17 level, which is beneficial when it comes to meeting the FA's points-based work permit requirements.

Several elite European clubs, including Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, have been monitoring the brothers, but Arsenal seem to have secured their futures. Burbano, their former coach, has drawn comparisons between the duo and Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.

Speaking to EL COMERCIO, he said: "People pay to see good football. They're going to give you spectacular plays. They're like Ronaldinho. Juggling, step-overs, whatever you can imagine, but they have to know when; first think about the team and then about that."
