Latest news involving Arsenal as the Gunners start to plan for the summer transfer window

Arsenal are already laying the groundwork for what promises to be a hectic summer in the transfer market. The Gunners are currently competing on two fronts for the season's most prestigious honours - the Premier League and the Champions League.

That largely stems from last summer's recruitment drive, which saw the club bring in eight players during a record-breaking window that exceeded £250million in spending. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta showcased his negotiating prowess by completing several marquee signings, including the transfers of Eberechi Eze and Viktor Gyokeres.

However, the Italian cannot afford to be complacent given the stakes heading into next season, with numerous reports indicating Berta has already initiated discussions for multiple targets. football.london now looks at the latest transfer speculation surrounding the Premier League leaders.

Arsenal eye wonderkid

Arsenal are reportedly showing significant interest in Leicester City youngster Jeremy Monga. According to The Telegraph, Mikel Arteta is a long-term admirer of the tricky 16-year-old winger.

Monga has committed to a professional deal with the Foxes which begins when he reaches 17 this summer, although this doesn't guarantee he'll stay at the club beyond next season. Monga is the third-youngest player in Premier League history behind Arsenal's Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri, having made his debut in April 2025.

Capable of operating on either wing or through the middle, the youngster has managed 28 appearances this season despite his tender age. This has established him as one of the most coveted talents in English football, with Arsenal hoping to fend off competition from rival clubs this summer.

Berta plots Man Utd hijack

Arsenal have reportedly entered the race alongside Manchester United to sign Atalanta midfielder Ederson. United have been strongly linked with the 26-year-old Brazilian international for the past 18 months.

However, recent reports indicate that the Gunners are attempting to hijack the deal by securing his signature first. The Athletic reports that Ederson, who has just one year remaining on his contract and is unlikely to extend it, is expected to leave the Serie A outfit before the World Cup.

Atalanta value Ederson at approximately £43.5m, though prospective suitors believe they can negotiate the fee down by around £10m. Atletico Madrid had also made an attempt to bring him to the Spanish capital earlier this month but those talks ultimately broke down.

The Brazilian spent time at the likes of Cruzeiro, Corinthians and Salernitana before arriving at Atalanta in June 2022. Since then, he has contributed 15 goals and five assists across 174 appearances, playing a part in Atalanta's Europa League triumph two seasons ago while helping cement their status as consistent top-four contenders.
