It's shaping up to be an interesting summer transfer window for Arsenal
With Arsenal performing strongly in both domestic competition and Europe, supporters can hardly be blamed for wanting to enjoy the moment. Still, football moves quickly, and even while the Gunners aim to end the campaign on the highest of highs, focus is already starting to shift toward the upcoming summer transfer window.
Following an outlay of roughly £250million on new signings last summer, Arsenal are not anticipated to spend as aggressively this time. Rumours linking the club to Newcastle's Sandro Tonali continue to build, yet with Mikel Arteta already well equipped in midfield and defence, the immediate need for additions seems relatively low.
Even so, a less active window does not automatically mean a quiet one. One or two major exits could still occur, particularly if recent speculation proves accurate. With that in mind, here are the latest Arsenal-related headlines:
Man Utd target Lewis-Skelly
Manchester United are said to be weighing up a bold move for Arsenal left-back Myles Lewis-Skelly. The 19-year-old has played a limited role for the Gunners this season, often operating as a backup - and at times even third choice - behind Riccardo Calafiori and Piero Hincapie.

He hasn’t appeared since Arsenal’s fourth-round FA Cup victory over Wigan last month and has not featured in the Premier League since early January. This represents a notable shift for a player who, after breaking into the first team last season, seemed ready to cement his place as a long-term option for both Arsenal - and for England.
However, with game time now restricted, questions are beginning to emerge regarding his future in north London. United, on the other hand, are believed to have placed Lewis-Skelly on a four-player shortlist as they look to strengthen the left-back position. Ongoing concerns about Luke Shaw's injury history, along with expectations that Tyrell Malacia could leave, have heightened the need for reinforcements in that area.
It remains uncertain whether Arsenal would approve a transfer to a direct competitor. But with Michael Carrick guiding progress at Old Trafford and current first-team opportunities limited, the idea of a switch might appeal to Lewis-Skelly.
Bayern interest in Raya
David Raya has disclosed that Bayern Munich tried to secure his signing before he joined Arsenal.
The Spanish goalkeeper first arrived from Brentford on loan in 2023, with the move becoming permanent a year later in a deal worth about £30million. However, prior to completing that transfer, Bayern had made a determined effort to bring him to the Allianz Arena.
Like Arsenal, the Bundesliga side were considering an initial loan arrangement with the intention of making it permanent. Raya has admitted he came "very close" to joining the German club, but ultimately feels his choice to move to north London was the correct one.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I was very close to going to another club. Obviously everything happened with Arsenal, but I was very, very close to going to another club.
"But luckily that didn’t happen and Arsenal in the end made the bid and I came here. Yeah, it was Bayern Munich." He added: "It was the best choice I’ve made, to come to this club."
Since then, Raya has firmly established himself as a regular in Arsenal’s starting lineup, and his performances over the past three seasons have led to him being widely viewed as one of the leading goalkeepers in both the Premier League and across Europe.
