Arsenal could have four transfer targets to choose between for their next signing after Viktor Gyokeres with a potentially huge boost revealed for one of those.
The Gunners have signed Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Norgaard, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke with the latter's arrival announced on Friday which saw spending go well into triple-figures. The agreed £63.7million (€73.5m) package to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP will see that rise to nearly £200million.
Despite that, a versatile addition in the frontline remains a real possibility with talks held for both Real Madrid's Rodrygo and Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace as the two strongest names of interest.
The latter seems a more likely addition now that Madueke has joined but there are two alternatives if the Gunners do not want to meet his £68million release clause in full. RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons is one of those with Chelsea also attentive to his situation.
With the 22-year-old expected to depart Germany ahead of the 2025/26 season, it is currently unclear what his asking price will be but he looks unlikely to cost less than what the likes of Anthony Elanga (£52million), Mohammed Kudus (£55million) and Madueke (£52million) all moved for.
There is one target that is available for less than that with Atalanta making it clear they want at least £43.3million (€50m) for Ademola Lookman. That has been made clear in discussions with Inter Milan who saw their £34.7million (€40m) bid rejected earlier this week, as per transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Inter director Piero Ausilio confirmed as such but hinted an improved offer at Atalanta's demands is not guaranteed. “We made a bid for Ademola Lookman, we like him," he said. "We have good relationship with Atalanta but we won’t enter into long negotiations, we have our own project."
Personal terms have since been agreed which indicates Lookman wants to join Inter but those comments from Ausilio suggest the switch is not guaranteed to go through. As such, knowing how much money they want, Arsenal could try and hijack that move.
Considering he has Premier League experience and will cost significant less than Eze, Lookman could be the dream alternative to the Eagles attacking midfielder.
