Here is how football.london rated the performances of the Arsenal players in their clash with Inter Milan

Arsenal secured a brilliant seventh victory in the UEFA Champions League and in some style at Inter Milan.

The Gunners started the game brilliantly, creating openings and finding the net after Gabriel Jesus pounced on Jurrien Timber’s mis-hit shot. Petar Sucic, however, equalised just eight minutes later after the Gunners failed to clear their lines.

Jesus restored the lead for Arsenal from yet another set-piece. Bukayo Saka’s corner headed back across by Leandro Trossard before the Brazilian himself headed in.

Viktor Gyokeres would find the net late on too, a curling strike after some fortunate interplay with Saka. The Gunners earned this win and it sends a big message to the rest of Europe in the process.

Here is how fooball.london rated the performances of the Arsenal players involved:

David Raya – Could do very little about the opening Inter goal, which was brilliantly struck by Sucic. Was tested by Dimarco before half-time, twice, saving from the Italian at relatively close range. 7

Jurrien Timber – It was the Dutchman’s attempt which would be stabbed past Sommer by Jesus and the defender linked up well again, back on his natural right side, with Saka. 7

William Saliba – Found the block initially from Marcus Thuram for the equaliser, but couldn’t recover to prevent the follow-up. Had to stay strong and calm under pressure and did well but was outshone by his young partner this time, which is by no means a criticism. 8

Cristhian Mosquera – Great anticipation when defending several early Inter forays into the Arsenal box. A truly world-class piece of defensive work when in a two-on-one situation against Sucic and Thuram. It was some performance from the Spaniard. 9

Myles Lewis-Skelly – Great ball across the box in the build-up for the first goal. Excellent recovery challenge at the back post to stop Henrique from firing in. Again on Barella in the second half, won a goal kick ricocheting a ball off the Italian midfielder. 8

Martin Zubimendi – Involved in the first goal but looked a little suspect for the equaliser, turning his back at Sucic’s shot. Then nearly gave Lautaro Martinez a goal, and thankfully watched it go wide. Wonderful pass with the outside of his boot in the build-up for the third goal. 7

Mikel Merino – Again in the left-eight midfield role, it seemed quite open with the Spaniard there, lacking the recovery pace to transition like Declan Rice. But when in possession it was evident the value the Spaniard was bringing to the team, especially in tight spaces. 7

Eberechi Eze – Involved in Arsenal’s build-up but it was obvious how open the Gunners looked in the turnovers. Had a great chance at the start of the second half, left-footed saved by Sommer easily. 6

Bukayo Saka – First chance came inside the first four minutes, cutting inside before having his shot blocked. His corner to the back post would lead to the second Gunners goal. Missed a huge chance in the second half when played in by Gabriel Jesus, blocked by Bastoni. 8

Gabriel Jesus – A poacher’s goal scored inside the first 15 minutes, his first since the 4-1 win over Aston Villa. The second, another right place right time moment, heading in after a well-worked corner kick. 9

Leandro Trossard – His headed return pass was on the money for Jesus to tap-in the Arsenal second. Left-footed volley at the back-post, across goal and just wide of the right post. 7

Substitutes:

Declan Rice – Came on to help sure up the midfield in place of Eze, pushing Merino further up. 7

Ben White – Replaced Timber, who gets a good rest ahead of Manchester United on Sunday. 7

Gabriel – What an asset to be able to bring on late in a game. 7

Viktor Gyokeres – Replaced the man of the match Jesus late on and scored a with a curling strike after a fortuitous passage of play. 7

Gabriel Martinelli – Came on late on for Trossard. Had a run at goal, but a poor touch took the ball away from him and into the arms of Sommer. n/a
