Mikel Arteta is predicted to return to a strong line-up against Burnley on Saturday afternoon

Arsenal travel to Burnley on Saturday looking to open up a nine-point lead on Manchester City before they host Bournemouth. Mikel Arteta faced the press to discuss the weekend’s opportunities and sadly gave some more frustrating updates ahead of the match.

There are still concerns over several members of the squad, as the Spaniard hopes to welcome back one key star to the group. Gabriel Martinelli, however, is guaranteed to be missing.

Arteta, therefore, needs to pick the right side as football.london's Arsenal writer Tom Canton runs through who he might select.

David Raya

Back in the side despite the impressive performance of Kepa Arrizabalaga in midweek, the Spaniard could earn his seventh clean sheet on Saturday.

Jurrien Timber

Ben White started against Brighton and did well, but Timber came on and provided a brilliant run leading to the second Arsenal goal.

Cristhian Mosquera

Mikel Arteta suggested that William Saliba might be fit enough to return for the match; however, Cristhian Mosquera was truly excellent in midweek and would be a comfortable replacement on the league side.

Gabriel Magalhaes

Returned for the match with Crystal Palace after having some fitness concerns last week, he will be one of the first names on the team sheet on Saturday.

Riccardo Calafiori

Again, another player who has great competition in Myles Lewis-Skelly. However, the Italian has simply been so good he too cannot be dropped from the league side.

Martin Zubimendi

A week of rest will have been a blessing for Martin Zubimendi who was replaced by a somewhat shaky Christian Norgaard on Wednesday.

Declan Rice

After coming off with an injury against Crystal Palace, Declan Rice returned to action against Brighton, proving that any concerns need not escalate.

Eberechi Eze

Moving back into the central role after deputising at left wing in midweek, Eze will hope to have a more influential fixture than his last away league trip to Fulham

Bukayo Saka

A hot streak has emerged for the Arsenal talisman. Saka will be critical again for Arsenal as they face a team that has scored just one goal in the last four meetings between the sides.

Viktor Gyokeres

Kai Havertz’s return is closing in, and the Swedish striker was given a week off in place of youngster Andre Harriman-Annous. A goal here would be big for the summer signing.

Leandro Trossard

With Martinelli missing, there is little debate about who will start on the left flank on Saturday. The Belgian has scored some big goals, and one here would be very welcome.
