Mikel Arteta is speaking to the media in Singapore following Arsenal's 3-2 pre-season friendly win against Newcastle United at the National Stadium. After beating AC Milan in the opening game of their summer tour four days ago, the head coach made four changes to his team as he switched things about.
Anthony Elanga gave the Magpies the lead in the sixth minute after converting Sandro Tonali's pull back. Arsenal did waste some good openings but restored parity towards the end of the first half through Mikel Merino's excellent low finish.
Moments later the team were ahead after Alex Murphy could only divert Kai Havertz's wicked cross into his own net.
Newcastle were to restore parity through Jacob Murphy's low strike but it was Arsenal who triumphed in the end as Martin Odegaard scored from the penalty spot late on.
As well as discussing the friendly and Cristhian Mosquera's absence from the squad, the Arsenal boss will be quizzed on Viktor Gyokeres' transfer to the club after concluding a deal for the Swede on Saturday.
