Arsenal press conference LIVE: Mikel Arteta on Port Vale, Madueke injury, team news and rotation

2 hours ago 18

Mikel Arteta faces the media ahead of Arsenal's Carabao Cup clash on Wednesday evening. The Gunners face Port Vale for the first time since 1998. The two sides have faced one another just twice in the last 99 years, both of those a meeting in the FA Cup 27 years ago, which required penalties after a replay for Arsenal to go through.

The current Arsenal team's ambition to win trophies is far more desperate. The League Cup represents an opportunity for Arteta, having failed at the semi-final stage last season.

There are some injury concerns with an update on Noni Madueke expected after reports the winger is set to miss the next two months with a knee problem. While both Ben White and Bukayo Saka returned at the weekend but Martin Odegaard was not yet ready.

The manager is expected to provide an update on the status of the players who are a concern and on the fallout from the draw with Manchester City. You can hear everything Arteta has to say on all that and much more from football.london's Arsenal reporter, Tom Canton, in our live blog below.
